From Your Personal Shopper in Paris: Hermès Centaure Collection

Unexpectedly avant garde from old guard Hermes, the Centaure collection, designed by Pierre Hardy, features horse hoof designs in materials such as gold, black jade, diamonds, aventurine, and pink opal. We would write more, but these rings have simply taken our breath away.

The Centaure ring comes in rose gold with a black jade or orange aventurine stone ringed with brilliant cut diamonds. Others are entirely paved with diamonds. The Fouet necklace is set with 3,669 diamonds, totaling 36.16 carats.

A closer study reveals that the rings, necklaces, and bracelets also embody the brand’s familiar equestrian motif. The 14-piece collection represents the first foray into fine jewelry for the French luxury-goods company, which began as a saddle maker in the mid-19th century.

The waiting time is five to seven months, and pieces can be adapted to customers’ tastes.

From Your Personal Shopper in Paris: Hermès $1.9 Million Diamond-studded Handbag/Bracelet

Hermès has been well known for the Birkin and Kelly bags, but you haven’t seen anything quite like this. Hermès has unveiled a new diamond-studded mini tote set in gold and gorgeous stones after two years in the making. But these designer bags aren’t just bags, they are bracelets designed with the handbag strap. This classy bag is called the Kelly bag, worth £1.2 million ($1.9 million).

The Kelly bag rose gold version was designed with 1,160 diamonds and crocodile style features by Pierre Hardy. There are four styles that will be made three times each, for a total of 12 bags.

These miniature totes are actually high-class jewelry, crafted from gold and encased with a lot of gems. Smaller than their predecessors, this bag series features purses that can be almost considered bracelets.

Apparently, their bodies seem to be made of leather, in fact those impressions are given by rose gold scales put together to resemble the respective leather. Furthermore, the bracelet strapping features thousands of individually-crafted diamonds and gemstones, these being the main eye-catchers. Pierre Hardy assumed the task of putting them together; the task took him two years of hard work.
